The County of Northumberland has issued to Request for Proposals (RFP) for a joint development with OAHS for an Affordable Housing Development, to be located at 473 Ontario Street in Cobourg. The following RFPs have been released:
- Architectural and Engineering Services for 473 Ontario St. Affordable Housing Development
- Construction Manager at Risk Services for 473 Ontario St. Affordable Housing Development
This land is currently zoned R5 and will allow for a maximum density of 60 units and 6 stories. Application for a minor variance will be sought to create an additional 2 units for a total of 62 units.
Northumberland County has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services, and the Northumberland County Housing Corporation, and through this partnership, we are seeking to build affordable and rental housing. Partnership goals include the introduction of urban Indigenous-specific housing in Northumberland, based on a model of Reconciliation and similar important values of Indigenous leadership, expertise, and excellence in housing.
