OAHS concurs with the issues that Mayor Lawrance has raised. We recently developed 50 units of new affordable and supportive housing in Sioux Lookout but the outstanding need is enormous and requires much more investment into increasing the housing stock to meet the demand. We currently have 280 applications for various housing requirements in Sioux Lookout. To help meet this demand, we are currently developing an additional 30 small family units planned for construction start in 2019 that will serve mothers accessing prenatal and postnatal services in Sioux Lookout. The anticipated opening date is slated for September 2020.
