Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative (OPHI) Homeownership Program component aims to assist low to moderate income off-reserve Indigenous renter households to purchase affordable homes by providing down payment and closing cost assistance in the form of a forgivable loan.
Funding is provided as a down payment and closing cost assistance loan for eligible purchasers. Assistance is forgiven in full after 20 years (see our FAQ document for terms of forgiveness).
