The province announced $2.5 million to help build an apartment building for Indigenous people, as well, offer support services like addiction counselling, cultural services and mental health supports.
The new housing development will be located across from the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre and will include 30 units.
The province’s announcement Monday will cover the cost of 17 of the 30 units in the new build.
Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark said this facility will certainly help the situation in North Bay.
