A 30-unit supportive housing project on Ninth Street North is moving forward, but more is needed according to the executive director of the Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services.
Justin Marchand told the Miner and News the designs will start this fall with construction due to start next year. He estimated a completion date of the facility in early 2021.
Marchand said from the data his organization has collected there is a need for more than 600 new housing units in Kenora.
“These 30 units are a start, but obviously there’s a lot more that’s needed,” he said.
