FIMUR Assisted Homeownership Program

In September 2014, the FIMUR program was extended under the Investment in Affordable Housing Program and OAHS was allocated a five-year notional funding of $30.5 million and launched the First Nation, Inuit, Métis Urban and Rural 2014/20 Housing Program.  Homeownership loans are forgiven after 10 years.

Applicants are encouraged to apply even though there is a wait list for the program.  Please note that priority applicants for the FIMUR Homeownership Program (those escaping violence and/or living in social housing) are particularly encouraged to apply as there is not currently a wait list for priority applicants.  Although new applications are being accepted, there can be no assurance of future funding availability and the wait list status may change at any time without notice.

To receive additional information regarding these programs, please contact Karen Benford, Program Coordinator at 866-391-1061 ext. 318 or
