Water Treatment Systems

WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS:
You MUST use the system to protect the health of you and your family.
If your house has a water treatment system, you will have been given separate written instructions on the care and use of the system. Some systems will require conditioning salt to be added to a brine tank. Tenants are required to keep the brine tank 3/4 full with conditioning salt. OAPMC will reimburse tenants, on an annual basis, for the cost of the conditioning salt. Tenants must obtain a totally separate receipt for the salt and submit the original receipts to our corporate offices in October or November of each year. A cheque will be returned to you. This money should reach you in time to help with your Christmas shopping. Tenants are reminded that they are to contact our office if the system appears to be using a lot of conditioning salt, or not much salt, or if the system is not working properly or has not been serviced in the last two years.

Water treatment systems only use one half of a KWH per day, maximum.

ULTRA VIOLET LIGHTS:
Tenants that have an Ultra Violet light are reminded that the light MUST be replaced on an annual basis. OAPMC will arrange for the light to be replaced. Tenants MUST contact our corporate offices at least one month before the light is due for replacement. In all cases there will be a date on the cover of the Ultra Violet light, indicating when the light was last changed. To ensure that your drinking water is safe, tenants MUST ensure that the Ultra Violet light is not overlooked.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY WATER

In most cases, you will have experienced a power outage. The low pressure safety switch has shut off the well pump. You will have to go to the pressure tank (usually blue) and lift up the silver or bronze coloured “L” shaped rod at the side of the grey box. You will have to hold the rod up for at least two to three minutes. This will allow the water pressure to reach the proper level. If this does not work, check the electrical panel to be sure the breaker did not trip. Please do not tamper with the control box, and DO NOT increase the pressure in the pressure tank! If you still do not have any water, call our corporate offices at 1-800-492-1605
